Arise and CHOOSE Your Future! November 2019
We thought it would be good to revisit something I wrote a few years ago, it resonates today. It's worth repeating...a gentle reminder that You've Got This!
Awaking this morning, I have a deeper awareness of my feelings and surroundings. After a fitful night's sleep and intense desire to stay in bed, I have a deep recognition that on the most profound level:
I am OK. I am safe. I trust.
The universe brings amazing gifts, in some times unwanted packages.
I grew up the child of two immigrants in a city with wildly vast cultures flanked in historical strife. In a country learning and believing in freedom. A child who learned that being different was frowned upon. A time in a country where people noticed you first for the texture of your hair and the hues of your skin. Having the right shoes, clothes, car, house, and friends mattered. Where you are from matters. A time where you had your place and you had to stay there. Don't aim too high, don't go too low. Where we prayed on Sundays judging all those who didn't. A time where if you had a cold or the flu, ignorant children would point fingers at you saying you have that deadly disease spread by "those people". This even before you understood sex or having a first kiss.
I learned to hide my feelings, visions and insight because I wasn't safe. It wasn't OK to see what I see, feel what I feel, think what I think, befriend who I befriended, or LOVE how I love.
I grew up different. Feeling on so many levels. Feeling fear. Aware of the roots of shame, guilt, rage, joy, bliss and LOVE. Knowing without understanding. I was a minority on ALL levels.
Today I remember all that I have experienced. Today I remember all that I have attracted.
This reminds me and teaches me:
How to LOVE.
How to be compassionate.
How I am safe.
I know and trust that I am OK. My being different serves me well. My ability to feel helps me help you. Who I am and how I LOVE is a gift. I am blessed to know that whatever stands before me is an opportunity to grow. I choose to evolve using the environment that I am in.
Join me.
Today I remind you of what you have lived through and how you have prevailed. Today I ask you to awaken to the YOU who can RISE UP and CHOOSE your future. The you who can choose the world you want. I know and trust that you are OK. I have felt your passion, strength and LOVE. Choose to remember to LOVE.
Attract what you need to create, what you need to be more than safe... more than OK.
