As the great Nat King Cole sang… “The greatest gift you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.” Sharing the deepest part of your heart means opening oneself up to possible rejection and can trigger countless unresolved issues; moreover, it means being rewarded with feelings of connectivity and heart-altering joy. An open heart is a gift to all. It takes an incredible amount of courage to be vulnerable and open. A true open heart belongs to a person who knows no matter whatever befalls them, she or he knows they are taken care of. No matter what the ego-mind says – you are blessed.
What if you created a practice of being in love… with yourself?
What if you chose to step aside and not be so hard on yourself?
I suggest that we all start by choosing not to reject ourselves. Open to see yourself and know your beauty. Shine your in-dwelling greatness for yourself, then when you are comfortable, let the world see it. What is the point of saying all of this? Well, like attracts like. Be the love which you want to have in the world.
You have to keep in mind not many people around you know what is going on in your head. So when you assume that your loved one knows what your feelings are – know that they don’t. Practice being unconditional and compassionate with your love. Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable to your feelings. It is always best to move aside and allow for your true light to show.
